* For bottom layers the price is higher because significantly more ingredients are required.


Fillings

There are limitless options for fillings. Typically I just use icing, but if there is a flavor you want, just ask. Some recipes take more pricey ingredients, and a small charge may be applied. For my fruit fillings I typically use fresh fruit, which can significantly increase the cost, depending on the fruit or season.



Healthier alternatives - For an additional $15* a layer, a healthier cake can be made by doing the following:

Egg whites vs. eggs - low cholesterol and low fat

Olive oil vs. Vegetable oil - no trans fats

An icing made with less shortening, or a low-fat cream cheese icing

* The price is higher because significantly more ingredients are required. Olive oil is significantly more expensive, and twice as many eggs are required.


Icing and Fondant

My buttercream icing is made with Cool Whip, which all but eliminates that yucky greasy taste typical of buttercream icing. I normally use real vanilla to flavor, but there are endless flavorings out there to use, so just ask.

My fondant is a marshmallow recipe, and has a great taste to it. It can also be flavored. Sometimes I have some extra around, so just ask, if you want a sample.
